Air Maestro Newsletter October 2009

Welcome to our regular Avinet newsletter where our aim is to keep you up-to-date on the latest developments to the Air Maestro system and related information from the team.

It's been a busy quarter
As you may know the last quarter has been extremely productive for Avinet. It all started when we launched Air Maestro at the AIA/NZAAA Conference in New Zealand. Then a whirlwind tour of the UK followed by a very successful launch in Europe at Helitech 09Helitech 09. As a result we have further expanded our customer base and continue to recieve very promising enquiries from operators focused around Operational Compliance, Safety Management System (SMS) and Fatigue Risk Management Systems (FRMS).

It has also been a busy quarter for the Air Maestro development team who have further enhanced the system with some great new features including a Scheduling Module prototype. The team have also added additional SMS capabilities to assist customers with new upcoming industry requirements.

Avalon 09As you might have guessed all of this extra interest means we have had to expand the Avinet team. We are pleased to announce the appointment of Alex Kadow who will join our support team. Alex has an aviation background and will be working closely with our support team to provide a first point of contact for customer support needs. Prior to joining Avinet, Alex gained experience in aviation operations, serving as an operations officer for a flight training organisation.

What's on the cards
Next month we will establish the second hosted data centre environment for Air Maestro. The new facility, which will be housed in a secure location in the UK, will provide services for customers across Europe, the Middle East and South Africa. Our existing IT data centre, will continue to supply services to Australia and the Asia Pacific Region.

Upcoming Enhancements

Our development plans for the product continue to evolve at a steady pace with a whole host of customer driven enhancements planned for the next release, due in early December. The following is a list of a few of the more eagerly anticipated enhancements.

•  Enhancements to the Audit Module, including many small changes requested by customers and simplifying the flow of an audit investigation.

•  Added the ability to track Company Recency dates with alerting to specified personnel.

• Document Library Access Control can be used to deny, allow read-only or full access to groups to specific folders within the document library.

Avalon 09•  Flight Records custom fields have now been integrated with the Timesheets so that flight data can be captured in one location.

• Aircraft, Company and Personnel Recency items can now have as many contact personnel as required.

A more detailed list of the enhancements available in version 2.3 will be provided to customers closer to the release date.

Future Modules

Scheduling
Helitech 09•  We are currently working on a new Scheduling Module which will be used in conjunction with the Rostering Module to schedule aircraft and personnel to different jobs within a day. We're including a prototype / beta version in our next release, due in early December, which will prompt discussion of specific requirements and future directions for this area.

Occurrence Reporting
• We are reviewing the Occurrence Reporting Safety Module with the intention of upgrading this module to provide increased flexibility in adapting to differing regulatory and operator requirements. For existing customers this will ultimately allow a review of the occurrence reports available and provide the ability to tailor them to more closely meet specific SMS requirements.

Events and Media

Over the past three months we have been busy promoting the Air Maestro system in Australia, the United Kingdom and New Zealand.

AIA / NZAAA In July we attended as a trade exhibitor at the New Zealand Aviation Industry Association and New Zealand Agricultural Aviation Association Conference which took place over a week. The conference was located in Blenheim in the Marlborough Region on the South Island. We received a high level of interest in Air Maestro at the event and have gained new customers in New Zealand.

HelitechIn September we traveled to the UK to launch the Air Maestro system into the UK and European markets. During our time in the UK we met with Aviation Safety and Fatigue Risk consultants, the CAA and various operators. We also took the opportunity to visit Aberdeen in Scotland to meet with a leading offshore helicopter operator.

PAvConWe attended two conferences in the UK the first being the Police Aviation Conference (PAvCon) located in Woodford Green in London where we were able to present Air Maestro to attendees and meet with key Police and Defence representatives.
  Helitech
We also attended the Helitech tradeshow located in Duxford at the Imperial War Museum. This tradeshow brought together helicopter industry trade exhibitors, operators and interested parties from all over Europe.

SafeSkiesSafeskies was our next event, this time in Canberra, Australia. The focus this year was how to proactively manage Aviation Safety in what the experts say will be the most rapidly expanding region in the world. Some of the concepts mentioned by the speakers have found their way onto our development priorities, where we are continuing to refine them.
